What are PictureBooks?

PictureBooks (sometimes referred to as Picture Books or Photo Books) are a new, fun and unique way of preserving your precious memories as captured by film or digital cameras. Instead of the usual way of taking pictures; developing it; then filing in an album, you just send us the digital images. We will arrange it into an album- or book-like format measuring 7 inches wide x 5 inches tall (or the same size as a 5R photo) complete with captions and artistic effects. The pages will be professionally binded using a spring or wire bind to maximize the viewing area, while at the same time, making it easy to flip the pages.

A single Picture Book can contain up to a maximum of twenty (20) pages, and can have up to eighty (80) photos. Photos are arranged in different ways based on pre-designed templates. You use the PictureBook Maker to choose the layout you want, and to tell us which picture goes to which location.

PictureBooks are priced affordably starting at PHP750.00 (roughly about USD18.00 depending on the USD to PHP buying exchange rate). That is cheaper than developing 80 x 5R photos and buying an album to store them!

PictureBook Formats

PictureBooks come in two formats: the double-wire bound standard format and the full-spread/no-cut-in-the-middle format. Choose the format you prefer when you start a new project using the PictureBookMaker software. The wire bound format is only available in 5" (H) x 7" (W) size. This classic 5" x 7" format can hold up to 80 photos in 20 pages, where a single page can hold up to 8 photos. This costs PHP750.00.	Our full-spread formats come in multiple sizes: 6x6, 8x8, 8x10, 10x8 and 10x10. They also vary in the number of pages from 10, 20, 30 and 40. All pages are hard/cardboard-thick. ColorAssisttm - Enhances the color of your Picture Books

There are several online do-it-yourself album printing sites. But what makes our service different and unique from the rest is we employ a human touch to our Photo Books. Each photo that goes into a PictureBook is manually enhanced and color corrected.

Digital photos printed on a Picture Book typically looks better than the original one that is normally sent to the photo developing shop. This is because our trained professional designers use several tools first to adjust the image to realize its true potential. These include:

• Brightening under-exposed pictures
• Improving the color balance and hue saturation
• Adjusting the contrast
• Making flesh tones look more natural
• Red-eye reduction and removal

The original photo was taken late in the afternoon with low lighting. This produced a dark photo.	ColorAssist improved the overall brightness and contrast. We also improved the sharpness of the image and the color of the skin tone.
The original photo was taken in the afternoon by a professional camera. The predominantly green background and the lighting caused the entire image to look pale and greenish.	ColorAssist adjusted the color balance especially the skin tone of the model so that it will look more natural and healthy.

LayoutAssisttm - Leave the design of your Picture Books to us!

Once all the photos have been enhanced, we lay them out by hand using only the template or stylesheet that you send us using the PictureBook Maker as a guide. Layouting by hand ensures the utmost aesthetic effects that cannot possibly be duplicated by machine-automated layouting. Manual layouting also allows us to work with odd-sized photos such as panoramic shots which are normally truncated or cropped by machine-based layouting.

Picture Books are not limited to photos. You can also scan us a handwritten note that you would want to be included. This will give your Photo Book a personalized and scrapbook-like feel. Feel free to scan images of train tickets, stamps, show tickets, maps and other memorabilia that you want to associate with your travel or event photos. You can choose from a list of pre-defined designs if there is a particular color scheme or motif that suits your fancy. But if you prefer, you can just put your trust in our hands and let our artists take care of everything for you! Just upload your photos in the proper order or sequence that you want them to appear along with the appropriate captions, and we will take care of the rest. You just sit back and wait for the delivery!
