How to Make a PictureBook

Creating a PictureBook involves a few simple steps.

STEP 1: Download and Install PictureBook Maker Software

Download our PictureBook Maker software and install on your computer. Once installed, you start working on your Picture Book. You use this software to create your album pages and indicate which pictures goes to which page. You can specify your captions, template preferences, and most important of all, upload your images to our system.

PictureBook Maker requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 runtime or better. PictureBook Maker is available on all Microsoft Windows platform supported by the .NET Framework. This includes Windows 98 onwards. To know more general information about the .NET Framework, you can read the .NET Framework Version 1.1 Product Overview.

To do a quick check if your PC already has .NET Framework 1.1 or better, click here. If not found, the .NET Framework freely redistributable runtime can be downloaded from our website, or directly from Microsoft, whichever is more convenient for you.

For more advanced users, if you are not sure whether your PC already has the .NET Framework installed or not, you can go to your Windows Control Panel and choose Add/Remove Programs. Windows will alphabetically list all the programs install on your machine. Look for an entry of Microsoft .NET Framework. If you do not see any, then your PC does not have it installed yet. The latest PC's with Windows 2003 usually already have this pre-installed during the Operating System (OS) installation. Older OS normally do not.

STEP 2: Start a New Project with PictureBook Maker

Start PictureBookMaker. From the File menu, choose New Project. Add pages as necessary by clicking on the New Page button in the toolbar. Then using your Windows File Explorer or File Manager, just drag and drop the photos that you want to be placed on that page. You can double click the image to associate it with a caption. Do not be concerned with the image and layout. Our professional staff will take care of adjusting it. The only thing that is important is you should group the images that should appear on the same page together.

STEP 3: Upload Your Project

From the Transfer menu, choose Upload to ThePictureShop.com. The software will transfer all your images to our server including your album photo grouping and captions. Depending on your Internet connection, this can take several minutes. A DSL connection should take only a few minutes, while a dialup connection can take several minutes. The size of your image files will greatly determine the duration of the transfer. The bigger the file size or the higher the resolution of the images, the longer it will take. We can also pickup your materials on CD if you have no broadband connection.

NOTE: To serve you better, we need to know some basic information about you. For first-time users, the system will open your browser and prompt you to register. Please take a couple of minutes to fill up our online registration form. You only need to do this once.

Upon successful image transfer, the browser will open the payment page. Enter your email address in the box provided and you will be presented with a list of PictureBook projects that you have uploaded recently. Remove the ones that you do not want to include for processing and leave only those that you want. Click on the Checkout button. If you have a discount voucher, enter the code here. The system will compute how much is due and will present you several online payment options. We accept a very wide range of online payments through Mozcom PayEasy including: all major credit cards, Bancnet and Megalink ATM cards, PayPal, Globe G-Cash, UCPB My1Time and bank deposits to Banco de Oro, EastWest Bank and Chinabank.

STEP 4: Eagerly wait for your PictureBook to be delivered

This is perhaps the hardest part of all -- you have to sit back and wait for us to deliver your order! Feel free to contact us to follow up the status of your order. But normally, you should expect 5 to 10 business days to receive your Photo Book. For out-of-town or out-of-the-country orders, expect additional delay for shipping.
